Marathon weeks 1-4
I’ve finished my first four weeks of training for running a marathon. Here’s how it has been going.
Schedule adherence
I have a training schedule that I try to follow. (More on that in a later post) Here’s how it looks, and where I am now.
I was sick this week, so I missed one training session, and thus did not reach week #4’s total distance target.
The total distance I’m expected to run each week.
The longest single distance each week I’m expected to run.
In summary, I’m adhering to the plan, except for being sick. (Which can be categorized as an external factor)
Estimate adjustments
In Chances of success I made some estimates on my odds of actually completing the marathon. This provides and updates to these values.
- General dropout before actually registering (-10%)
- I still haven’t registered, so this is constant.
- Fitness compared to failed runs in prevalence (+0%)
- Until I meet someone how has done this course (or similar) this will remain as-is.
- General life circumstances (-15%)
- So far I’m adhering to the schedule fairly well and haven’t felt any especial demotivation, so this will remain.
- Injuries (-5%)
- Knees feels the same - no worse or better.
All in all, I’m still at 40% odds.
